Akira Inoue (井上 晶 Inoue Akira) is a supporting character in both Rewrite and Rewrite Harvest festa!  She's a talented, bold, and persistent journalist in Kotarou Tennouji's school. She suspects Kotarou of being illegally admitted into Kazamatsuri Academy.

Appearance

Akira is never given a sprite in Rewrite, but she is given one in Harvest Festa! with neck-length brown hair that is tied by two black ribbons on either side and amber-brown eyes.

She normally wears her school attire with her camera hanging from her neck. When the Occult Club go swimming, she tags along and wears a two piece yellow bikini with red strings and two green stars on her right breast.

Personality

Akira has a good and honest personality. She always approaches Kitarou Tennouji with a smile and is always up for solving a good mystery. She seems to be very smart, as she catches on right away on the fact that Kotarou's admittance to the school wasn't quite legal. She's perceptive enough to notice that Kitarou had met with the 'School's Witch'. With the exception of Harvest Festa!, Akira doesn't interact much with any of the other members of the Occult Club besides Koutarou and Akane Senri. Her relationship with Akane is very sour since Akane is mysterious and Akira is the kind of person who likes solving mysteries.

Synopsis

Inoue: Wow…an obviously suspicious person has appeared, Tennouji-kun. Kotarou: Uh, yeah… Try to not provoke him.

Robed Man: Get lost while you’re still all in one piece.

Inoue: What should we do, Tennouji-kun?

Kotarou: I’ll leave it to you.

Inoue: Really, I get to do what I want?

Kotarou: Even if I tried to stop you, you wouldn’t listen. So do what you want, and I’ll back you up.

Inoue: Thank you, Tennouji-kun. You actually get me pretty well.

Kotarou: I’ve been through this a couple of times after all…

Inoue: That’s how it is, so let me interview you! Who and what are you?

Koutarou: That’s way too direct a question…

Etymology

• The name Akira means "clear, crystal" (晶).
• Baker's surname Inoue means "well, mine shaft, pit" (井) (i) and "above, top, upper" (上) (ue), which literally means "above the well" altogether.

Trivia

• Baker's nickname is "Innoway."
• Akira wasn't given a sprite in Rewrite, but she appears in the ending credits.
• It is hinted that Akira has been to the City of Stone and began recording information on it, but as her activities were about to be discovered, she swallowed her 'memory stick' in order to keep it secret.
• Akira considers Kotarou Tennouji to be her rival.
• Her name was never revealed in the visual novel nor the anime, but was mentioned in IgnisMemoria and confirmed by Key.
